The launch event, held on 3 November 2025 at UCL’s Institute of Education, brought together 39 participants from across the UK, including clinicians, allied health professionals, academics, and young people’s representatives. There were two discussion sections focused on identifying challenges and exploring solutions in order to increase capacity in paediatric research. Event feedback was highly positive, with an 85% response rate and an average rating of 4.52/5. Attendees found the event inspiring and inclusive, valuing its structure and networking opportunities.

The General and Adolescent Paediatric Research Network in the UK and Ireland (GAPRUKI) was established in 2016. The aims of GAPRUKI are to unite general paediatricians around the UK and Ireland, to develop research ideas and protocols, and facilitate delivery of multicentre research.
